THe Hurt Locker

Honestly, I didn't really like this film and I could care less if we watched it. I didn't life the fact that this movie was very hard to follow. I would not reccommend this movie to anyone. I felt bad for the man who had the bomb strapped around him. That was a horrible scene because we watched someone blow up. I honestly don't have a clue on what the Hurt Locker means. I've actually been thinking about it for the past couple of days. NOTHING has came to me. It's kind of difficult to think of .

Captain Phillips

Although I didn't get to see Captain Phillips all the way through, the ending was great. This film was filled with suspense and I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I have to say, America did a great job getting their captain back upon their ship. The people from Somolia were great actors and their portrayed themselves in such a way. I could really follow this film and would reccommend this film to anyone. Such an enjoyable film that will keep you wanting to watch more.

United 93

I thought this film was very informative on what happened on 9/11. This really showed how everything  and everyone was affected the day this happened. I was actually sadden by this movie because these innocent people lost their lives. I wasn't aware that a plan flew into the Pentagon. We will forever wonder what was on these peoples mines? Why would they want to take the lives of others and their own? It is unfathomable why everything happened on this day. I remember being picked up from school, not knowing what happened.  Seeing this happened made me think a lot. The United States has been through so much.

United 93 filled me with hope because, Now we know that this stuff can happen. I think we should be careful with the immigrants we let into our country. So many countries have been plotting against and I believe since 9/11, we have protected ourselves well. I believe our country will continue to keep us safe. We should never forget what happened September 11, 2001. We should never for get those who lost their lives. We should never forget those who committed the attack on our country. We should never forget the affect the attack had on our country. We should never forget how this changed our lives forever. I hate that these people lost their lives.

Apollo 13

I enjoyed watching the film,  Apollo 13. It was an amazing film and I would watch it all over again! This film was very easy to understand. This film focused on the actual space shuttle and the control center. Which also, made the film easy to understand, without all of the extra "stuff". The best part of the film, was seeing the three of the astronauts reach earth safely. I was very proud of the three of them because they accomplished a great goal. I honestly didn't know how much affect this film would have on the whole class. This film really showed me you can do anything, if you put your mind to it.

I believe that the budget was more than enough. It is well worth it, if we would like to know whats going on with the atmosphere around our planet earth. We should have every piece of technology to learn about other planets and things that can affect us later on in life. This funding is well worth continuing!

I don't think this should be done, if lives are lost. But, I would be all for it if people are able to come back to earth alive. It would be sad to know that these people who put their lives on the line aren't safe. I would say yes, if their was some kind of plan in place to keep them alive. This is dangerous, we want the right people to explore space.

Parkland

I didn't really enjoy the film because of being absent. During the parts that I was able to watch, I thought this film was very enjoyable. I also thought this film had some good moments and sad moments. I think people would be able to enjoy this film because it's shows so much about U.S. History. This movie showed me how much the citizens of the United States were sadden my John F. Kennedy's death and their reaction. I thought Zach Efron did an amazing job playing his part, especially being as young as he was and not being a live when all of this happened. This movie informed me on a lot that happened during the 1960's.

The Pianist

I believe this was a good film. It really showed what happened during the Holocaust and how the Jews were taken from their homes. The Germans would kill someone in the blink of an eye. I was horrible seeing the "Pianist" ripped away from his family. I thought he was very good at hiding from the Germans. This film, in a way, reminded me about the film Defiance and how they fought back against the Germans.  At times, this movie was a little hard to follow. I would eventually catch on to what was going on. I would definitely recommend this movie to people who enjoy watching films of this time period. They would enjoy this movie a lot. The only thing I didn't enjoy about this movie because there was barely any talking and I think this was a key factor as to why I couldn't follow this film as well as I could others.

I don't believe that all Germans or Nazi's were completely bad people. I believe they just followed one another because they thought being abusive was the way to live life. Hosenfeld saw so much courage in szpilman. He felt that he wanted to fight to stay alive and to prove he could beat the holocaust. I think Hosenfeld gave him a chance to live because he saw how well he played the piano. He felt that he could have been a good person, and didn't want to continue to abuse the Jews. I was happy that Hosenfeld let Szpilman continue to live his life and not taking his life.

Defiance

To me, Defiance was just an okay film. I felt that a lot of the scenes from the film were very gruesome. I felt that unity was the main theme in this movie. I felt that all of the Jewish people stuck together as one. They continuously fought against the Germans. I could tell they were determined to protect each other. Tuvia, Zus, and Asael Bielski were amazing people for contributing help for a lot of Jewish families. They have accomplished a lot and are well know for what they have done. I would recommend this film to others even though, I felt this film was okay.

Tuvia said "Our revenge is to live". I honestly thought this was a powerful quote. I believe this quote simple means the Nazi's would have been upset to continue to see Jew's live their lives. Jews living their lives would make Nazi's upset. Jews were simply fight to keep their lives.

Humanity and revenge were the two main themes in this film. I believe they can coexist. They seem to play a major part. The Jewish people were very proud of their descent. The Nazi's discriminated against them and felt they had no place in Germany. They stood up against the Nazi's. For revenge, the Nazi's were simply upset because these few Jews still had their lives. The Nazi's got what they deserved in this movie.
